Choir

Choir is open to anyone in Years 3 - 6 who enjoys singing. We rehearse on Wednesday lunchtimes at 12.15pm in the school hall.

Two years ago we put on several performances of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' in collaboration with the school orchestra. The production took place in the school hall. We were delighted to have so many children taking part and there was so much talent apparent at the auditions that we ended up with 3 complete casts of principals. Congratulations to all our wonderful singers who sang solo parts in the show.

Dusing the school year 2011-12 we sang at the KS2 Carol service in St. Mary's Church. Then the choir gave a wonderful performance at a concert on Friday 3rd February at St. Andrew's Handbridge URC, with Cantabile and some instrumental groups. The church was packed with families & friends, church members and local people and the whole concert was greatly enjoyed by everyone. Well done choir!!!!
Finally, we sang in a concert in the school hall for parents which was with the orchestra, where we sang a whole repertoire of songs from Disney films.

Last year (2012-13), we started with a very busy term. We joined Cantabile to sing at the Christmas Fair, the KS2 Carol Service in St. Mary's Church and also a concert in All Saints' Church with the City of Chester Male Voice Choir, which was very exciting (and a very late night!). Some members of choir also entertained the luncheon club with some favourite Christmas songs. Our last performance of the year was a concert for parents (in school) at the beginning of the summer term. This was a performance by choir, orchestra and Cantabile and included the cantata "Adam-in-Eden" by Michael Hurd.

As we started a new school year (2013-14) we also started a new chapter for the choir as the rehearsals were being taken by Mrs Clarke & Mrs Dixon. We sang in assembly, at the luncheon club and at the Handbridge Christmas lights event. Our next performance was in a concert, for family & friends, with the orchestra, in school on Tuesday 29th April.

In the present shool year (2014-15) we started learning songs from 'Annie' and 'Oliver' for our concert on 31st March where we performed on stage by acting and dancing along with our singing. We also once again performed for the luncheon club in December. This year the choir was led by Mrs Atherton & Mrs Parkes (until she left at Easter to have a baby). Since Easter we have started to learn some fun songs which we will hopefully perform at the Farmer's Market in July.
