Topic - geography/history

Our topic for this half-term is 'Mighty Maya'. The children have enjoyed an introduction to the topic during a Maya workshop with Dr Diane Davies, an archaeologist who specialises in the Ancient Maya. They learnt about her experiences and work, before handling artefacts to discover more about the Maya civilisation. 

Games/PE

There are 2 sessions for PE each week, on Wednesday and Friday. 

Homework

Homework is set every Wednesday and is due in on a Monday. It generally consists of a maths task, English or topic task, weekly spellings and reading. 

Reading

Reading regularly is key to developing children's learning. In class, we enjoy a 'class reader' which this term is Wonder by R J Palacio. Children also read independently, as part of a group and within other lessons.
