In EYFS your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of learning and development. The 7 areas are Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, Physical Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design. The curriculum we deliver offers a balance of adult-led and child-initiated learning. The areas within our indoor and outdoor classrooms allow the children to make choices and initiate play, offering opportunities to explore, consolidate and build upon their prior learning throughout the day. We are very lucky that we have a dedicated Forest School area on site and Mrs Rodgers take the children to Forest School on Thursday mornings.
At Overleigh St Mary’s we use Evidence Me, an online app to record the children’s learning in nursery. This will allow you to see any of the observations and pictures we have made in nursery. You will also be able to contribute your own observations or ‘wow moments’ with us via the app. We love to see what your child has been learning at home.
Our door is always open, please come and see us with any concerns, no matter how small you feel they may be.
