English

At Overleigh we believe it is essential to encourage children to love books and to become readers in every sense of the word. Through the use of motivational and wide-ranging stimuli we guide children to develop and extend their imagination and to express their own ideas in writing across a range of genres.

Literacy can be defined as the combined skills and knowledge of reading, writing and oral language. In our school these skills are taught through a cross-curricular approach, engaging children as they experience a wide range of exciting, thought-provoking activities.
